About us.

Fantastisch started on the road back to Mexico, somewhere between Dresden and Mexico City, with the idea for a first vinyl toy. Both of us have lived in Germany for years; the project became a way of making things together while keeping two cities in the same sentence. We work across paper, 3D, photography, and embroidery. Made between worlds.

Bela Álvarez

Paper · Embroidery · Cyanotype

Bela studied industrial design in Mexico City, where she helped found Alimaña Toys, one of the country's first vinyl toy companies, before moving to Dresden in 2013. There she turned to paper, building the sculpted beings of Unter uns, and later returned to the embroidery she learned as a child from her mother and grandmother, now stitched together with photography, fabric, and cyanotype. Her work has shown at the Albertinum and the Stadtmuseum Dresden, and she's a current member of GEH8.

Oscar Juárez

3D · Photography

Oscar studied visual communication design in Mexico City, where photography and 3D became lasting, self-taught obsessions. After years working in motion graphics and animation studios, a job offer brought him to Pixable Studios in Dresden in 2013, where he's been a technical supervisor and partner ever since. His photography keeps returning to memory, an archive of people and places, including the Oaxaca his family comes from.
