The Zentralbibliothek is home to the Comicfest, a day of exhibitions, workshops, readings, and films around comics. In 2026, one of the workshops starts on paper and ends off it: at "Comic-Charaktere bauen," participants build a hero or villain out of a single sheet of paper.

Bela brings the templates. Each participant draws a character of their own on one of them, the face, the outfit, the superpowers. Then the sheet stops being flat: cut, folded, glued, following Bela's hands, the character takes its shape and stands on the table. It leaves with the person who invented it.
