Tolerance has been sighted five times, and unlike most of these records, the sightings line up into a path. She started where almost no one goes: moss over rock, then a stand of trees lost in fog, then a lookout over open country, facing the distance the way someone studies a route before taking it.
The fourth sighting placed her in a meadow full of people on a Sunday afternoon, and she crossed it the way the others in this file usually do, unnoticed. The fifth broke that pattern. On a night when a crowd had already gathered to watch a different set of lights, she grew taller than the rooftops around her, and for once, the looking went both ways.
Why this sighting differs from the rest is not recorded. The file stays open, the same as it does for every being here, but this one holds a question none of the others raise: what made her decide, just this once, to be found.
